The inaugural Annual General Meeting was a forum
for all members present to voice their views and suggestions which
were taken seriously by the President, Dato' Raymond Liew and his
Management Committee.
The first annual reports of both McMillan Woods
International Limited & McMillan Woods Global Limited were presented
to the members present and were formally approved and adopted at the
AGM.
The AGM was also preceded by a number of relevant

Friday, 1st July 2011 Grand dinner

 The
McMillan Woods grand dinner was held at the Holiday Villa in London,
United Kingdom on Friday, 1st July 2011, hosted by our London firm and
the Guest of Honour was none other than our Malaysian High Commissioner,
Datuk Zakaria Sulong. The dinner event was well attended by McM members,
associates, clients and friends of the global network.
 Our
host, Dr. Ronnie Silva welcomed all members present before passing the
floor to our Guest of Honour, Datuk Zakaria Sulong who expressed his
delight to witness a young and yet extremely vibrant global network that
has made not only Malaysian entrepreneurs proud but everyone present.
Our President, Dato' Raymond Liew opined that this
forthcoming Annual General Meeting in London is a very important event,
as McMillan Woods is here to propel the homegrown brand of the
accountancy profession where both Malaysia and the United Kingdom play a
key role in fostering forward this young but yet vivacious and exciting
global network in the global accountancy industry, taking advantage of
the information technology knowhow. He also thanked everyone present and
offered his gratitude to the host for the gracious hospitality.
The evening ended with the usual customary of the
British hospitality of a few drinks for the road – so to speak and a
night cap!

Indeed, this is our very 1st Award since our
inception on 9th January 2010 and already McMillan Woods Global has been
acknowledged as the fastest growing global network for the International
Professional Advisory Services category. This is undeniably an

McMillan Woods: Staff annual trip
- 14-17 October 2010 Siem Reap, Cambodia
This year, our staff annual trip took us to the
magical allure of the Angkor ruins in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where there
are thousands upon thousands of beautiful and awe-inspiring sights to
explore around the world and nothing speaks better of them that the
experience of being there!
 "This
trip brought about a better team building bonding and an even greater
camaraderie of closeness among the staff members where material wealth
is not everything but the value of friendship and the true meaning of
real living is what enhances the team spirit of everyone. What material
wealth that is lacking for you and me, may well be more than enough for
others as evidenced from the visit" echo Dato' Raymond Liew during the
tour visit to Siem Reap.
Certainly, this staff trip leaves a memorable and
mind-boggling experience worth retelling for many years to come. Siem
Reap is a charming destination that imparts a sense of timelessness
unfound anywhere else in the world.
Already, staff members are planning for the next trip
and the destination is none other than Guilin, China.

Global Meeting

The global meeting for McMillan Woods Global held on
Saturday, 3 July
2010 at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was, as many new and
existing members highlighted, as an "eye-opener" with a very positive
feel for global growth. Certainly, each and every member felt that the
meeting was most beneficial not only in terms of them joining the dynamic
fast moving network for international exposure and exchange of expertise
but more importantly, the spirits and aspirations of everyone present
The meeting commenced at 9.00am and ended at 6.15pm
where members subsequently had a "Get-together" drinking session at the
hotel lobby to watch the world football match where Germany scored 4
goals against Argentina which was to the delights of our German
supporters! Unfortunately, Germany lost to Spain which then headed to
win the world cup with a one goal win! Kudos Spain!
On this note, the President, Dato' Raymond Liew and his Executive
Committee, wish to thank every members for their concerted effort to

1st Global Launch of McMillan Woods

The 1st Global Launch of McMillan Woods was a runaway
success - Please refer to the newspaper write-up and the press release
under "Publications" column.
At the global launch, the President, Dato' Raymond
Liew announced that McMillan Woods Global is the first of its kind and
the only global network to offer financial interest (which is optional)
to all its members worldwide where each and every member have an
ownership stake in the global firm.
He further emphasised that “Organic growth can be
somewhat slow and may well be non-competitive, more so when Malaysia now
goes global. Hence it is important that firms, particularly the smaller
ones, consider some forms of joint ventures and affiliation arrangements
with foreign firms with a view to be more competitive.
In view of the evolution of the business landscape,
by going global with such affiliations, firms will be in a better and
more dynamic position to offer a wider variety of services and technical
expertise across more sectors of the industry and cover wider
geographical locations. Additionally, they will be able to provide for
the more sophisticated and diverse needs of the individual clients."
McMillan Woods seeks to be recognised as a global
strategic financial business partner in fulfilling the needs of its
clients by way of a ‘Multiple Disciplinary Partnership’. In today’s
fast-moving business environment, accounting firms need to increasingly
transcend Malaysian borders and move into international frontiers if
they are to access new markets and to achieve greater growth potential,
Liew said.
The theme for the First Global Launch in Malaysia was
"One Name, One Network & One Malaysia", Liew offered. "We want to be
able to be able to propel Malaysia as a leading home grown brand

Regular Meetings and
Annual General MeetingAt McMillan Woods Global, the Head
Office would normally hold a global Annual General Meeting together with at
least two global ExCo meetings at any destinations, unanimously agreed by all
members of the Global Executive Committee. Every region is encouraged to hold their
own regional meetings ideally on a Quarterly basis, together with their own regional AGM if
so required.
Staff Annual Vacation
Each year, McMillan Woods organise an annual staff vacation to a
different part of the globe to reward their staff for their loyalty and hard
work. Recently, the staff members had their annual vacation in
Chiangmai, Thailand in the month of November 2009.
Says, Dato'
YS Kok, "What better way to thank your staff members than to reward them with a
yearly vacation other than the yearly Christmas dinner, Chinese New Year's "lou-sang",
Buka Raya etc. Long after the staff members have forgotten their yearly bonuses
and cash rewards, certainly they will always remember the unique experience of
adventure, discovery of the unknown horizon and most importantly, relaxation
that a holiday provides - not forgetting the shopping spree!"
At
McMillan Woods, we believe in rewarding our hardworking staff members by
providing them with at least, a fully paid vacation each year, as a gesture of
our gratitude and in showing them our appreciation.

Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia - On Wednesday, 30th November 2011, there will be a diner cum
cheque presentation to various charities following the McM Mt. Kinabalu
Charity Expedition where McMillan Woods Global successfully raised
RM100,000.00 (Equivalent to US$35,000.00). 
Our
Ambassador who is also our very own Malaysian astronaut, Datuk Dr.
Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor will also be present at this event to greet
everyone.
10-10-2011,
50 enthusiastic participants scaled the highest mountain of Southeast
Asia - Mt. Kinabalu at a height of 4,095.2m above sea level with the
theme "Climb for charity". Believe it or not, McMillan Woods painted the
mountain red!
On
Sunday, 9th October 2011, the participants of McMillan Woods will be
commencing their expedition climb up the highest mountain in South East
Asia - The Mount Kinabalu at 4,095.2m above sea level. It is expected
that over 50 enthusiastic participants will be taking part in this Mt.
KK Charity Expedition with the theme "Climb for charity". Our
ambassador, Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor will be motivating the
team and our well-known national celebrity, Ms Chermaine Poo and our
President, Dato’ Raymond Liew will take the lead up the challenging
climb.
